Reporting Unethical Conduct by Council on Foundations Members
The Council on Foundations promotes the highest standards of ethical behavior. As a condition of membership, Council members agree to practice our profession with integrity, honesty, and a commitment to maintain and strengthen public trust in our institutions, as outlined in our Ethical Principles.
In line with our Sanctions Policy:
- Any individual may bring a good faith complaint to the Council about a member organization by submitting information indicating ethical misconduct.
- Council staff, and when relevant our Ethics Task Force, will consider and discuss accusations of unethical conduct submitted to the Council.
- Following a review of the reported misconduct, the Council may sanction the member organization, but will not sanction individual employees or directors.
