Mary Bess Ser

Mary Bess Ser grew up in the rust belt city of Youngstown, Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s from Antioch College and a master’s in education from Depaul University. She is a licensed high school English teacher. She has facilitated over 600 interviews for StoryCorps and is currently a Field Manager for the One Small Step initiative. She enjoys writing creative nonfiction and quilting/textile art. She lives in Chicago with her wife and three children.
