Michael Batchelor
Pennsylvania Association of Community Foundations
President
During 31 years as CEO, Mike Batchelor transformed The Erie Community Foundation from a quiet and reactive grant maker to a regional leader focused on increasing access to health care and workforce training. He created a $27 million investment fund focused on downtown revitalization that attracted an additional $80 million in private sector investments. He created a $3 million fund focused on DEI, Erie Women’s Fund, the Nonprofit Partnership, Erie Vital Signs and Erie Gives, a very successful on-line giving day.
He grew assets from $20 to $340 million and named endowments from 53 to 900. He raised $415 million while overseeing grantmaking of $330 million. Mike has on-site consulting experience with 60 community foundations. During retirement, Mike is serving as president of the Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association.
