Ryan is a human resources leader with 10+ years of experience in the field as well as a passion for serving in the nonprofit sector. Specifically, he is committed to supporting organizations that affect social change and advocate for progress, in addition to advocating himself for organizational policies and procedures meant to promote equitable, diverse, inclusive, and transparent work environments. As an HR generalist, Ryan has experience managing talent acquisition efforts, administering benefits and compensation programs, making policy, overseeing performance management processes, dealing with employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Prior to joining the Council on Foundations, Ryan was HR Manager at the Shriver Center on Poverty Law, spent several years working in the for-profit sector in an HR capacity, and served in administrative roles with The Bridge Project at the University of Denver. He has volunteered with PAWS Chicago, the Literacy Volunteers of Illinois, and the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. Ryan is a SHRM Certified Professional and earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and political science from the University of Colorado and Roosevelt University, respectively.
Fun fact: As for a fun fact or two, I also have a passion for cooking (especially for others!) and enjoy just about any outdoor activity.
