Sheryl Petty, Ed.D., Founder & CEO, Movement Tapestries, has worked in organizational development, systems change, equity, education, and field building for nearly 30 years. She consults with national and international philanthropic institutions, nonprofits, government agencies and colleges on equity transformation processes and field alignment. She has designed equity-driven strategy processes with thousands of practitioners, staff, community members, advocates and boards.
She was a Fellow with Stanford’s Center for Opportunity Policy, Principal Associate at Brown’s Annenberg Institute, and Adjunct Faculty at Columbia. Dr. Petty holds degrees in Mathematics, Theology, and a doctorate in Leadership & Change. She also supports groups in developing socioemotional competencies and mindfulness as core capacities, particularly in equity change processes. She is a yoga instructor and ordained in Buddhist and African-based traditions. She supports the alignment efforts of practitioners and community members to heal, unleash our most vibrant selves, transform social systems, and improve our collective life.
