Doctor of Natural Medicine, Sofia Maria Chavez works part-time as Community Liaison for Denver Health. Her private practice offers culturally based care, health classes and cultural competency training. The Senate confirmed Sofia Maria Chavez to serve on Colorado's Natural Medicine Advisory Board through 2025. She received the Outstanding Woman’s Award for her Community Health classes in 2010 from MSU. Sofia Maria Chavez received the Pillar of The Community Award from Denver Health in 2017. She is a member of the Advisory Council for UTICA University NY, and Advisory Council for Food as Medicine Global, Food systems and sustainability.
