Managing Director, Democracy

Wendy Feliz joined the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation as the Managing Director for Democracy, and as Public Policy Advisor  in September 2022. Wendy has more than three decades of experience in communications, public policy advocacy, and education. She has spent her entire career on the goals of building a more fair, just, and pluralistic democracy for everyone who calls America home.

She is the Founding Director of the Center for Inclusion and Belonging at the American Immigration Council, where she advanced culture- and narrative-change strategies and led the communications team for more than a decade. She launched a national communications campaign with the Ad Council called ‘Belonging Begins with Us’ which garnered tens of millions of dollars in donated media, and she enlisted civil society groups to partner with the campaign in the necessary work of building bridges across group divides.

She served as an inaugural member of the New Pluralists, and is a thought leader who focuses on the power of storytelling and bridge building to facilitate human connection and thriving communities.

She has served as an adjunct professor teaching public policy communication at Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University and American University. Wendy earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from The New School University in New York City and her master’s degree in public communication from the American University in Washington, D.C.
