As Manager of Engagement Zainab helps Council members build communities of practice and peer connections.
Prior to joining the Council, Zainab worked at a philanthropy-focused nonprofit where she provided trainings and research to community foundations related to DAF management and hate funding. Before this, Zainab worked in the varied fields of civil rights and political economy. She has authored multiple authoritative reports on Islamophobia, hate-funding in philanthropy, and American-Muslim civil rights.
Zainab is intellectually curious and has a passion for social equity. She received her BA in Communication Studies and her MA in Islamic Studies at the University of California Los Angeles. Outside of work, Zainab enjoys diving into a good book, cooking and baking, exploring new food spots, and spending time outdoors with her husband and children.
