The Council on Foundations’ Career Pathways program (CP) has strengthened and expanded the capacity of philanthropic professionals within the leadership pipeline who are considered, appointed, and retained in senior and executive philanthropic leadership positions. The Council is committed to upholding the program’s core values of community, equity, learning, and development and will continue to ensure participants have a stellar experience.

This community building hour series will give Career Pathways Alumni a virtual opportunity to connect, reflect, share, and discuss a host of topics – from national issues to sector solutions.

This Community Building Hour

  • CP alumni and current participants are boldly suited to provide valuable insight about the communities they serve and have unique perspective on how philanthropy can bring aid, as the world navigates a global pandemic a racial injustice across the country.
  • The Council invites past and present program participants to join in a conversation with three CP alumni who will share, through their experiences, how they have increased understanding about the challenges facing BIPOC communities, the renewed urgency "to do something", the balance of leadership and selfcare, and the opportunities for BIPOC leadership.

  • This peer to peer conversation is only open to Career Pathways Alumni and 2020 Cohort participants 
  • All conversations will be confidential.
  • Discussions will be hosted on Zoom, and we encourage participants come prepared to share video for better engagement within the platform.

Career Pathways is a year-long executive leadership preparation program that advances excellence, equity, and inclusion for individuals, organizations, and sector-wide strategies. Focused on developing participants’ competencies and skills in self-awareness, field-wide knowledge, and organizational leadership. The program prepares participants to successfully compete for leadership positions by expanding their capacity to become more effective philanthropic leaders.
